Root System Energy

In “To A New World” and “High Noon at July“, Knives penetrates Vash with his knife tentacles and initiates a “connection” with him in order unlock the portal to the higher dimension and access the Core that is the source of all plant energy. As part of this, he forces Vash’s body to generate a root system from the gate on his back. Initially these are used to penetrate the dependent plants that Knives plans to impregnate. A second mass of vines grows from Vash’s ankles and feet, ultimately growing into an out of control, Rem-shaped root monster that threatens to engulf the entire planet.

Energy Cube Formation

When Vash awakes, he pulls his roots back, retracting them completely. According to Conrad, Vash refines the mass on a molecular level, breaks it into countless particles, smaller than air, and crystallizes it. This creates an energy cube.

The energy cube is roughly 6 in x 6 in x 6 in. It glows purple with a blue core and hints of magenta. The blue core pulses from the center and outward.

Crystal Structure Instability

While Vash’s goal is to contain the massive amount of energy in the cube and take the energy safely away from JuLai, the crystal structure isn’t stable, and cracks quickly appear.

As the fight between Vash and Knives escalates, the cube structure continues to decay, threatening to release the energy in an uncontrolled explosion.

Fusion Into Vash’s Prosthetic Angel Arm

Vash merges the cube with his gun and his prosthetic arm to create a prosthetic angel arm that he can use to direct the cube energy.

Energy Beam

Within the prosthetic angel arm, the energy cube cracks further and breaks open.

As the energy releases, Vash directs the prosthetic angel arm to fire out into space, away from the planet. The energy fires out as a beam of magenta light.

Knives flies directly into the released energy as the force of the energy propels them back down to the planet. The energy burns off his skin and muscle, falling away as blue light, and he floats off into space.

Finally, the energy cube falls completely apart.

Energy Ball and JuLai’s Destruction

As the energy cube pieces fall away, the beam cuts out, and the energy coalesces to form a ball. The energy ball swirls magenta and orange.

Vash continues to fall back to the planet’s surface, landing back in JuLai. At the moment of impact, the energy ball explodes, vaporizing JuLai in a wave of magenta light.
