Original Tumblr Post: Vash pushes himself so hard

Vash pushes himself so hard

Vash fires over a thousand times here, and his marksmanship is, as usual, perfect, and aimed non-lethally. But I don’t think that’s the only take-away. This isn’t his usual training. He fires until his fingers bleed. Until his hands shake.

He’s making sure he won’t hesitate, pushing himself past whatever mental blocks the recovery of his memories may have created. I think Meryl was 100% right that Dragon’s Nest affected him that way, but by the time she sees him here he’s already forced himself to get over it.

The more I look at the panels the more I feel like I’m making a post about something obvious, but I really want to put it into words because just… look at him, all gritted teeth. He pushes himself so hard.
