Original Tumblr Post: Final tally on crucifixion-adjacent injuries

Final tally on crucifixion-adjacent injuries

Finishing out crucifixion-adjacent injuries tally for bookclub! I caught two in Volume 14.

Trimax Vol 14, Chp 1 – Legato’s gun has these….. scissor blades?? that protrude from it (would a feature like this be considered a bayonet?). Vash engages the blades with his left hand so that the gun mounted in his prosthetic can then fire on Legato at close range.

Trimax Vol 14, Chp 7 – And there’s the side wound courtesy of Knives. In the Bible, this wound is dealt after Jesus had already died on the cross (see John 19:33-34). A soldier pierced Jesus’ chest with a spear, and blood and water flowed out of the wound. This is the last injury dealt to Jesus’ body on the cross. The Bible doesn’t specify which side was pierced, but most artistic depictions place it on the right. Some of Peter Paul Rubens’ paintings do show it on the left side, though.

So in total, I counted seven:

  1. Trigun Vol 2, Chp 8
  2. TriMax Vol 3, Chp 5
  3. TriMax Vol 3, Chp 7
  4. TriMax Vol 5, Chp 5
  5. Trimax Vol 7, Chp 6
  6. TriMax Vol 14, Chp 1
  7. TriMax Vol 14, Chp 7
