General Physiology

Elendira was created by Conrad. As his attempts at modifying human children failed to produce his desired results, he turned to directly hybridizing humans and plants. It is not clear if Elendira qualifies as a full independent plant, a partial clone of Knives, a hybrid clone of dependent plants, or some other variation. She is the only one of Conrad’s creations with a gate, but in “Humanity” Conrad states her power is only that of a supply gate.

It is not clear how long she has been alive, though Conrad’s description of events suggests that his initial focus was on modifying human children, and he only turned to hybridization after a string of failures. In contrast to Knives and Vash’s rapid growth, Elendira’s growth appears to be somehow restrained. She is seen as a physical child over 20 years before Stampede’s present day, when Rollo is taken by Conrad. She is the same physical age when she attacks Meryl and Roberto.

Elendira is implied to be trans or non-binary. In the manga she is a trans human woman, though it is implied that she may have plant-like capabilities.

Nails

Elendira’s nails are similar to Knives’ knives. She can manifest large metal nails from her gate and use them as offensive weapons.
