Friendly Fire: The Allies
of the Tau'ri.
With friends like these, who needs
enemies? Here's the lowdown on the the various alien cultures and races
who at least aren't actively trying to kill the Tau'ri, and have helped
them in times of need.

The Asgard
Who They Are: Benevolent,
highly-advanced, alien race.
Spokesperson: Thor, Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet.
Philosophy: We help those who help themselves.
Helpful With: Intimidating the Goa'uld. Technology problems.
Infestations.
Problems: Spread thin by battle with the Replicators.
Tendency to bluff. Deity impersonations. Politically hamstrung.

The Nox
Who They Are: Peaceful,
highly-advanced, alien race.
Spokespeople: Lya and Anteaus.
Philosophies: It's not our problem. The very young do
not always do as they're told.
Helpful With: Hiding things. Reviving the dead.
Problems: Strict policy of non-involvement. Consider the
Tau'ri to be "too young" to share technology with them.

The Tollan
Who They Are: Highly
advanced race of humans.
Spokespeople: Narim, Omoc, and High Chancellor Travell.
Philosophy: We don't share with primitives.
Helpful With: Legal disputes. Goa'uld motherships.
Problems: Consider the Tau'ri to be "not advanced
enough" to use advanced technology without self-destruction.

The Tok'ra
Who They Are: Goa'uld
resistance who oppose the System Lords. Take only willing human hosts
who choose to live in a truly symbiotic relationship.
Spokespeople: Martouf and symbiote Lantesh. General Jacob
Carter and symbiote Selmak. Grand Counsel Garshaw of Belote and host
Yosuuf. Scientist Anise and host Freya.
Philosophies: We don't trust you, but we can use you.
Tok'ra translates to "Against Ra."
Helpful With: Experimental technology. Infiltration. Goa'uld
technology.
Problems: Experimental technology. Reluctance to share
information. Tendency to treat the Tau'ri as cannon fodder.
