Billy Accent He explains during pick-ups: It's been two years since we filmed the three Rings films. It was like stepping back in time when I first walked on set. It didn't feel like two years, but as I was saying my lines, director Peter Jackson stopped me and said ... 'your voice is sounding a bit low for Pippin. Are you turning into a pirate?'. I was mortified at that and realised I was slipping into my part in Master And Commander. But it came back soon enough. Playing Pippin again was just like saying hello to an old friend.
Elijah Going Back It was awesome. It's always awesome going back. There is an intense feeling of going home because we have spent so much time there, going back to Wellington, it literally feels like going home. We catch up with so many people and have breakfast at our favorite breakfast spots. Those little things mean everything to us. It's also just great to see all the cast again and all the old friends on the crew. It was wonderful. And we are going back next year which is going to be both great and kind of sad in the sense that it will be the last time that we actually are called on to film new material for "Lord of the Rings." It will be a bittersweet experience.
Elijah The One Ring Yeah, over the last bit of—I went to New Zealand last year, for sort of pick-ups and ADR and things for film one and during the last set of pick-ups, before I left for the airport to go home, I went and visited Peter and Fran in the editing room while they were putting the final touches on editing the movie and they presented me with a gift. And inside they gave me a box, this beautiful wooden box. I opened it up and there was a pouch inside with the One Ring on the chain. So, yeah, I do. I have the One Ring, which is wonderful. But I plan to have more tokens from the movie.
Liv Endings I was just there in June, and it was really great to see everybody again. I cried when I left. I get to see Fran [Walsh] and Peter [Jackson] and Philippa [Boyens] all the time, and I get to go back to New Zealand and work more. I'll go back next year [for additional Return of the King filming]. The next time will be the really sad time, when we won't ever be going back again to do pick-ups. That will be really sad.
